We Believe

God’s Word is truth and is the basis for everything we do at Faith Bible Church. As a church, we believe there are certain truths which the Bible presents that impact what we do.

The Bible

We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as verbally inspired of God,and inerrant in the original writings, and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and life.  (II Tim. 3:16,17; II Peter 1:21)

The Trinity

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4; Eph. 4:4-6)

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man.  (Phil. 2:6-9; Rom. 1:3,4)

Human Condition

We believe that man was created perfect in the image of God, that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death, which is separation from God; that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and those who reach moral responsibility become sinners in thought, word, and deed.  (Eph. 2:1-3; Rom. 3:3-23; Rom. 5:12)

Solution to Sin

We believe that salvation is by faith in Christ alone, without works and solely by grace; that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who by faith receive Him as their personal Savior are justified on the ground of His blood shed on Calvary; they are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become the children of God.  (I Cor. 15:3,4; Eph. 2:8,9; Rom. 3:24-28)

The Resurrection

We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord Jesus Christ,

in His bodily ascension into Heaven, and in His present position, as Mediator

for us.  (I Cor. 15; Heb. 4:15,16)

The Body of Christ

We believe that every individual who puts his trust in Jesus Christ is baptized at

that moment by the Holy Spirit into the one, true church, the Body of Christ.

No ceremony of water baptism will be required for membership of this

organization.  (Eph. 4:4-6; I Cor. 12:13)  The observance of the Lord’s Supper,

as revealed by the Apostle Paul, will be offered to the congregation, but

will not be required for membership.  (I Cor. 11:23-26)

Eternal Security

We believe that by reason of the imputed righteousness of God, every member

of the Body of Christ has a perfect, eternal standing before God, and is eternally

secure in Christ and can never be lost.  Each is called by the Grace of God

to make his momentary walk conform to his perfect position in Christ by striving

to live a surrendered Spirit-filled life apart from sin.  (Eph. 2:8-10; Rom. 8:1,29-39)

Sign Gifts

All the sign gifts of the Acts period such as tongues, prophecy and healings, being temporary in character, have ceased.  However, we do believe that God answers prayers and restores health when it is His will.  (I Cor. 12:1-31; I Cor. 13:8-11)

Our Future

We believe in the “Blessed Hope” - Christ’s pretribulational coming for the Body of Christ in the air; the bodily resurrection of the saved at that time to eternal life and blessedness; the personal, premillennial return to the earth of the Lord Jesus Christ; the establishment of His millennial kingdom on the earth; the bodily resurrection afterwards of all the unsaved to eternal conscious suffering and woe.  (I Thess. 4:13-18; Rev. 20:11-15)

Understanding Scripture

We believe that all Scripture must be studied in the light of the Pauline truth, and must be interpreted in the light of the truths that Christ spoke through the Apostle Paul.  (Eph. 3:1-6; II Tim. 3:16,17)

We believe in the preaching of the Gospel of the Grace of God to every creature, and in the edification of the members of the Body of Christ.  (II Cor. 5:14-21; Eph. 4:11-16)

We believe God has designed the marriage covenant to be an exclusive joining of one man and one woman into one flesh, for life. We recognize the biological gender given by God before birth; that men are male and women are female, they are uniquely created in God's image and equal in their personal dignity. Sexual activity is created for the marriage covenant alone. God has called the husband to lead his wife and family, "as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her." (Eph. 5:25) God's design is for Christians to marry other believers. Past failings in a marriage relationship will be taken into account, but will not automatically restrict church membership. (Gen. 1:26-27,2:18-25; Mal. 2:14-16; Matt. 19:4-11; Mark 10:2-12; Gal 3:28; I Cor. 6:15-20; II Cor. 6:14-7:1; Eph. 5:22-32)
